It’s been over a decade since Jimmy last released a solo album. We Are The Sound released on Itunes on January 25th of 2011. Tracked at Humans Win! in Minneapolis, that EP continued deeper into realm of relationships gone wrong, a theme of Jimmy’s first record, originally titled I Hate the Fall (re-released as Like Young Lovers Should). The original release date of that record has been lost to the ages but press once called it “the Dashboard Confessional of my twenties” (link not found).

Stargazing Days EP takes a step forward out of the despair of failed relationships, hopes for the future and finally finds a love with a long way to go. And it’s been a long time coming.

Sometime after the release of We Are the Sound, Jimmy found Jess Nelson and Heidi Brink singing together and decided he needed to put some third harmonies and percussion into their act, Sleeper and the Sleepless. They recorded two albums and played many shows, music festivals, and Pride where they were featured on the website banner (check that picture out in the gallery).

After Sleeper’s hiatus, Jimmy continued playing drums in other bands in the cities and settled with Fox & Coyote, a sort of avante garde folk band. The band shot several music videos that you can check out below. Jimmy played many more shows and festivals with Fox & Coyote until leaving them to pursue a Masters degree from St. John’s School of Theology.

During his studies, old friend Brianna Kocka was putting together new solo work and asked if Jimmy was available for harmonies and drums. Jimmy eventually settled into lead guitar and heavy harmonies, singing throughout the 2018 album Dreamlife, the 2019 EP Three Songs, and the 2021 EP Let it Stay.
